After tearing out this bathroom, we discovered that there was an old tile bath that had been torn down and was used as part of the foundation. Where the small tiles hadn't been distributed, there was only dirt. The bathroom was no longer level. The bathtub we had torn out was no longer draining because of roots growing in to the pipes. The whole thing had to be torn out and entirely redone.
